Good Shepherd Wins Van from National Contest

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)

Good Shepherd Center has a new mini-van thanks to Toyota. It’s all a part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program. The program benefits organizations that impact the lives of individuals in their communities. Hendrick Toyota Scion of Wilmington handed the keys to the charity this afternoon.Good Shepherd Center Executive Director Katrina Knight says the van will be put to good use.

“Something like this is so helpful to us, not only in transporting our homeless men, women and children to medical appointments to school, but also to help them when we are moving them back to housing again,” Knight said.

Good Shepherd won the van based on votes from Facebook users.Over the next 50 days Toyota is giving away 100 cars to 100 non-profit organizations.
