Second Annual Good Neighbors Gathering

August 20, 2025 by Claire de Lespinois in Events, Special Events

5 – 8 PM

Azalea Station in the Cargo District

Food provided by: Circa 1922

Join us for food, drinks, music, fabulous auction items, and more this fall, with every dollar raised supporting Good Shepherd Center’s mission to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition to housing. The proceeds from this event will specifically support Good Shepherd’s rehousing programs that return over 200 homeless adults and children back to safe, stable housing each year!

As the Cape Fear region’s largest provider of homeless services, Good Shepherd Center meets hundreds of neighbors in crisis each year—families with young children, seniors on fixed incomes, Veterans, and adults with disabilities. Our campus offers wraparound support in one safe, welcoming place—from hot meals and clean clothes to medical care, case management, and housing assistance.

Through our programs, including our Day and Night Shelters, Soup Kitchen, Medical Clinic, Second Helpings food salvage, Rapid Rehousing, SECU Lakeside Reserve, and the Sgt. Eugene Ashley Center for homeless Veterans—we meet urgent needs while helping each guest take steps toward permanent housing. Our Case Managers walk alongside each individual and family, offering support through the housing search and transition, and our Housing Retention program ensures that once housed, our neighbors stay housed.

Together, we’re making sure that everyone has a path forward and a place to call home.

This work is only possible thanks to our team of volunteers and the support of people like you!
