Dear Friend,

Each year at this time Good Shepherd Center takes part in the annual Feinstein Challenge.Alan Shawn Feinstein has been giving away $1 million each year to anti-hunger agencies throughout the country, with $1 billion raised over the last 12 years. The Feinstein Foundation continues its nationwide fight against hunger for the 13th year by offering matching funds for gifts we receive from our donors between now and April 30th.This has become the greatest grass roots campaign ever to fight hunger in our country, and your donation makes you a partner in that fight.

Your generosity during this period generates additional funds from the Feinstein Foundation-in recent years, as much as $5,000-for Good Shepherd Center hunger programs. And the more you give, the more we will receive. So by giving now, the impact of your gift will be measurably increased.

During the most challenging economic climate we have ever experiencedwe have heightened our efforts to feed and transition our homeless guests to housing, succeeding in facilitating that transition for families with children more quickly rather than reducing services. The Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Center has developed an active Financial Development Committee which has produced an annual plan to ensure that we are able to continue our existing programs.

Rather than allowing ourselves to be besieged by the challenges we face, we look to the opportunities and ask for your assistance in our resolve and faith that God's love and your support will help us weather our crisis just as we assist our neighbors in weathering theirs.

So thank you.The generosity of friends like you has carried Good Shepherd Center for 27 years in our mission to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition of those in crisis to independence in the community.

Only because of your love and concern have we been able to provide 100,000 meals to the hungry each year, provide a safe haven for 100 homeless men, women, and families with children each night of the year, and successfully transition more than 100 homeless veterans, families, and other homeless guests to housing each year.

Please consider what level of gift you can offer to Good Shepherd Center during the Feinstein Challenge.Never has your support meant more to the hungry and homeless of our community.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Green, Chair
Good Shepherd Center Board of Directors
